Dropping Your Bad Habits and Getting New Ones

When deciding to stop bad habits you must first understand that negative thinking about it will only give you negative results. Keeping a positive frame of mind about anything you are doing will promote positive affects. When quitting bad habits you are normally used to doing will take time. Knowing or Understanding up front that it probably took a lot of time to get were you’re at so it will take a long time to truly let go of it.

Dealing with emotional charges is the hardest step. You are dying for that cigarette you must understand that this is you point of weakness. Look back on the Last emotion you felt; the last thing you did and this will tell you where you went wrong.

Knowing that try these simple steps and get a jump start on your recovery:

  1. Use a notebook: This will help you keep track of your success and failure. Write down everything you were doing at the point of weakness or success. Find one that will fit in your pocket and something you can carry with you. Anytime you feel the need to taste the cigarette or drugs you can see better when it posts.

  2. Finding your trigger: finding your triggers first is a good treatment. Write down everything, and I mean everything you look at! This will show you how to affectively quit your bad habit.

  3. List building: I know sounds like a marketing strategy however making a list just after a week will be very beneficial in your efforts to rid the world of smokers. Listing what is happening around the time you purchase the book to the time you first let someone checks the list after a week, take out the notebook and make a list of the triggers.

  4. Looking for at 30 day breathe: When you start on your well planned goal you must begin to figure out whether or not you will leave those who help encourage you or those with negative energy and keep you down.

  5. Analyze the people on the list. Determine where your relationship is with each person. Find out if this will be helpful. You can set the tone and determine how you should go about talking to them. If they refuse to respect your decision then you should decide if it’s easier to accomplish with or without them. Anyone that is holding you back is probably envious for your people list.

Figuring out what you want to do for yourself is very important. If you are trying to quit then bad habits don’t associate with those who will tempt you as simple as that and ff they are a true to yourself that is all that counts. Knowing who you can trust the person with important things like this should be given the right amount of time.

We all want to help out with bad habits and finding your own ways to get the right amount of assistance is sometimes needed. Making lists and contacting friends will give you the added support you need to live a productive and satisfying lifestyle.
