The Numerous Problems Caused By Sore Throats and How to Solve Them

By: Remedy Zone

Swallowing is a routine part of our daily lives. In fact we probably do it at least four or so times every minute. A sore throat makes it hard for a person to swallow and we usually require this to relieve any problems that we have. These sore throat warnings can be a warning of an impending cold or flu and they may also result in a viral or bacterial infection too. Ultimately they may be caused by allergies or by simply sleeping and opening our mouths.

What a sore throat really is , is an inflammation of the lower pharynx and mucous membranes of the mouth. It may also be an inflammation of your tonsils. Sleeping with your mouth open because of a stuffed nose may also cause a sore throat as well. In you need to sort this out you can easily place a cool mist humidifier in your room in order to sort out your problems. A cool mist humidifier will also add moisture to the air and ease any congestion problems that you may have. If your sore throat is caused by a cold or flu on the other hand, a number of miseries are readily available which will help you sort out your problems.

Another way that you can soothe your throat is by gargling and this also soothes the inflammation too, You can gargle easily with a number of different solutions. Salt water is one of these solutions and it is also the most popular of the lot. To create a salt water solution all you have to do is mix a single tablespoon of salt along with an eight-ounce glass of warm water. When you do this you should then follow by gargling and repeating the process each hour as you deem necessary A combination of these methods will easily aid in increasing any blood supply to the area by clearing out the mucous and dilating your capillaries too. Another thing that you can gargle with is diluted lemon juice that has been placed in warm water. You may also add 1 spoon or bourbon or whiskey in order to numb the area too. Adding chamomile tea that has been cooled to a lukewarm temperature will also lead to a soothing effect too.

If you swallow one or tow tablespoons of apple cider vinegar which has been mixed with a glass of water, it may also be effective as well. Acidity that is present in the vinegar will easily kill the bacteria as soon as it comes in contact with it. If you drink a warm cup of water that has been mixed with thirty drops of Echinacea every two hours or if you drink water that has ginger pieces that have been boiled in it, you may also derive the same soothing effects. Licorice tea will also aid in clearing up the mucous as well and help you ease your sore throat. Cool drinks or popsicles may also aid with your pain.

Sucking on throat lozenges can also sort out your sore throat problems. Lozenges that have phenol in them will kill of any germs until your system builds itself up. You can also find phenol in certain throat sprays but these throat sprays have short contact duration so in the end lozenges will benefit you a whole lot more. Zinc lozenges also tend to help with relieving sore throat and cold symptoms too.

Garlic may also be used and it is an antibiotic and antiseptic at the same time. Garlic oil capsules that are taken at least six times daily are the required dosage for a sore throat. Vitamin C also helps in combating germs. Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory and it helps with pain and inflammation problems. Increasing your fluid intake and opening your nose up with saline nasal drops may also help.
